21 new activities to support our active minds in 2021
At MindtheMen our Monday night meetings have always been about providing a safe place to talk about life’s challenges, be listened to without interruption by our peers and leave feeling supported and no longer alone in our thoughts.
As our clubs have grown we have been able to offer some additional activities, participation and learning to our men with the support of some fantastic organisations and supporters. These included:
The MindtheMen Sunday walking group, entering 5 aside and 7 aside football tournaments, Art tuition by the renowned fine artist Frank To, Pedal Scotland bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh, First Aid tuition, Mindfulness, Go Karting , the first MindtheMen golf tournament, attending music gigs, Yoga and learning about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. A diverse and varied range of activities to suit all tastes and abilities.
Being able to participate in these group activities has had a very positive impact on our men and helped in many ways to improve their well-being by achieving things we may never have tried while supporting each other and most importantly laughing as we did it even after 49 miles in the saddle to Edinburgh!
So in 2021 MindtheMen are committed to bringing 21 more exciting and diverse activities to our clubs.
Can you help?
We would love to hear from you if you have a skill you could share, teach or inspire. Our minds have been opened to trying new challenges. Maybe your company or employer could provide or sponsor a free activity and play a big part in reducing suicide in 2021
If you can help or want to talk to us about an idea please contact the facilitator team at mindthemen@gmail.com
